DISSEMINATION OF COVID-19 SOPs WORKSHOP TO HEADS OF INSTITUTIONS

Iganga Municipal Council Education department organized a dissemination of standard operating procedures (SOPs) workshop to heads of Institutions at Iganga High school on 25th august 2020.

In attandance were the town clerk Mr. Alikwana Ayub Kisubi, Deputy Town clerk, principal Education officer Ms. Itaaga Lydia,Health Inspector, Education staff members and all Head teachers.

The chairperson headteachers during his speech welcomed and thanked all members for attending the meeting and keeping the image of Iganga Municipal Council. He said the lockdown situation had been a good reason to all and opened people’s eyes to creativity and not being salary dependents.

The principal education officer in her speech thanked the host headteacher and requested all people to observe SOPs. She also checked attendance in categories of ECDs, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary.

The principal education officer appreciated whoever hosted DES Officials and thanked them for their presence & interacting with them updated members of various lockdown learning programs that are running on NBS radio and Television. She said some of those had been sponsored by SESIL which is coming up to strengthen these programs for majority to benefit.

The town clerk in his remarks appreciated the organizing team of Education department, health team and all categories of participants for taking the meeting serious.

He also pointed out that Government has struggled to contain the disease together with district task force where the RDC and TC are members. Town clerk emphasized that SOPs are being disseminated but he was worried about private institutions which he said are at a high risk due to their limited area of operation and doubted if they could acquire certificates of compliance.
